Gene Higgins Announces Retirement as President of the Inspirational Country Music Association

Jason Higgins Assumes Leadership Role

 Inspirational Country Music Association Celebrates 20 Years of Inspirational and Christian Country Music on October 14 at Cornerstone Church

Nashville, Tenn. (Oct. 4, 2012) – After 20 years serving as the president of the Inspirational Country Music Association, music industry veteran Gene Higgins, announces his retirement from the association. Jason Higgins, will now serve as President, CEO, and Chairman of the Board.

“It has been an incredible journey with a whole lot of blessings and satisfaction seeing what this organization has turned into today,” said Gene. “I would love to invite all the media, industry and friends to come share in this 20 Year Celebration and retirement ceremony.”

Gene continues his role with Power Source Music Inc., an organization he founded and developed, working hands on to promote songs of Faith, Family and Country. Jason remains in his role with Power Source, Inc. as well.

A special farewell to Gene will accompany the previously scheduled 20 year celebration concert on Sunday, October 14 at Cornerstone Church (726 W. Old Hickory Blvd. Madison, TN 37115) on Sunday, Oct. 14. The music begins at 6:45pm with performances by Russ Murphy, Chuck Day (The Days), Paula McCulla, CrossCountry The Band, T. Graham Brown, John Steed, John Berry, Stella Parton, Sunday Drive, Last Light Band, Branded, Greg McDougal, Tommy Brandt, Dennis Agajanian, The Roys, Mary James, Jeff Bates, David Ball and Andy Griggs. This event is free and open to the public. Donations will be accepted for OPERATION TROOP AID.

Also, tickets are still available for the 18th Annual ICM Faith, Family & Country™ Awards to be held at the Nashville Symphony Center. The Awards will feature performances by Mac Powell (Third Day), The Roys, Doyle Lawson & Quicksilver, Andy Griggs, Chuck Day, Aubree Bullock, Geoffrey Andrews, DJ Miller, Chuck Hancock, John Berry, Steve Richard and Laura Dodd with appearances by The Better Show’s Ashlie Kolb, songwriter/artist T.
